Robert L. WILSON

Robert L. WILSON, 82, of Fairfield died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Parkview Care Center.

Arrangements for a family memorial service are pending. Memorials may be made to The Children's Medical Research Foundation, P.O. Box 70, Western Springs, Ill. 60558.

Mr. WILSON was born Sept. 8, 1917, at New Rochelle, N.Y., the son of Goodwin Turner and Ruth LEAYCRAFT WILSON. He married Joanne BROWN June 29, 1946, in Kenilworth, Ill.

Mr. WILSON graduated from New Trier High School in Winnetka, Ill., in 1936. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1942-1945 and fought in the Central and South Pacific during World War II. He was a buyer for Inland Steel in Chicago for 20 years and then worked as a sales representative for Tool Steel Gear and Pinion Co. in Oak Lawn, Ill., until his retirement in 1983. He resided in Galena, Ill. from 1983-1996 and moved to Fairfield in 1996.

Survivors included his wife Joanne WILSON of Fairfield; one daughter, Linda DYER MacDONALD of Puyear, Tenn.; three sons, Bradford WILSON of Western Springs, Ill., Jeffrey WILSON of Fairfield and John WILSON of Bloomingdale, Ill.; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one brother, Goodwin Turner WILSON Jr. of Wilmette, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Joan FLANNERY.
