Virginia M. TAYLOR

Virginia M. TAYLOR, 74, of Fairfield, died Monday March 4, 2013, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A graveside service conducted by Ron Rominger will be at a later date. The body has been cremated.

Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or to the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center.

Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mrs. TAYLOR was born May 21, 1938, in Davenport, the daughter of Etta Oweta CHENOWETH. She married Laurent TAYLOR July 3, 1966, at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Mich.

She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Dean F. SCHELLHOUS.

She graduated from Davenport High School and received a bachelor of arts degree from Western Illinois University, Macomb, Ill.

She was a programmer for AT&T for 10 years in Cleveland and Chicago.

She worked as a tax preparer with H&R Block and was a bookkeeper.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She was a member of the Heritage Club and enjoyed traveling.

She loved playing card games and keeping in touch with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband Laurent TAYLOR of Fairfield and one sister, Gwen SMITH of Ashland, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Virginia M. TAYLOR

A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 20th at Iowaville Cemetery near Selma (note - in Van Buren Co., IA) for Virginia M. TAYLOR of 1304 Dogwood Drive, Fairfield, who died Monday March 4, 2013 at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

She married Laurent TAYLOR July 3, 1966, at Martha Mary Chapel in Dearborn Village at Dearborn, Michigan.

Virginia was a member of the Heritage Club and enjoyed traveling. She enjoyed playing card games, crossword puzzles and reading mysteries and keeping in touch with her family and friends. Her favorite game was cribbage.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are her husband Laurent TAYLOR of Fairfield and 1 sister Gwen SMITH of Ashland, Missouri, plus other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center and sent to: Laurent TAYLOR at 1304 Dogwood Drive, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial gathering and luncheon to be held at the First Christian Church, located at the corner of Iowa Highway 1 South and the Libertyville Road in Fairfield at 12:30 P.M. Saturday. The church will be open at noon for those who may not wish or may not be able to make it to the cemetery.
