Dorothy M. SCOTT

Dorothy M. SCOTT, 90, formerly of Cantril, died at 9:45 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua, where she had resided since August 2009.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Dorothy M. SCOTT

Dorothy M. SCOTT, 90, formerly of Cantril, died at 9:45 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua, where she and her husband resided since August 2009.

A funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Visitation opens at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with family present 5-7 p.m.

Memorials to Sunnyside Cemetery or Cantril Fire Department may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 27232 Gold Ave., Cantril 52542.

Mrs. SCOTT was born Sept. 27, 1922, near Milton, the daughter of Albert and Florence WRIGHT SKELTON. She married Lowell I. SCOTT June 9, 1940.

The SCOTTs celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary in June.

They farmed many years in the Cantril area until they retired and moved to town.

She worked 22 years as a bank teller for State Savings Bank in Cantril.

In later years, she worked as a cook for Meals on Wheels in Milton and Keosauqua until health problems forced her to retire.

She was noted for her delicious pies and cakes.

Survivors include her husband, Lowell; and one sister, Ella Jean SCOTT of Branson, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ed SKELTON; and one sister, Hattie NEWLAND.
