Walter R. FRENCH, 92, 402 E. Burlington Ave., died at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 1994, at Jefferson County Hospital.
The body was cremated. A memorial service and burial of ashes will be at a later date. A memorial has been established and contributions may be left at Raymond Funeral Home.
FRENCH was born Jan. 18, 1902, in Iowa, the son of William R. and Ida HILL FRENCH. He married Frances M. WILSON on Nov. 16, 1935. A longtime Fairfield resident, he was a retired engineer, having worked at Louden's. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a 50-year member of Clinton Masonic Lodge 15.
Surviving are three sons, David of Omaha, Neb., James of Fort Meyers, Fla., William of Brownsburg, Ind.; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Regina FRENCH of Cedar Rapids. His wife and five brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

FRENCH, DECEASED, BEARING DATE OF THE 29TH DAY OF MAY, 1990, WAS ADMITTED TO PROBATE IN THE ABOVE NAMED COURT AND THAT DAVID H. FRENCH WAS APPOINTED EXECUTOR OF THE ESTATE. The service for Wanter R. FRENCH, 92, 402 E. Burlington Ave., who died at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 1994, at Jefferson County Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Evergreen Cemetery. A Masonic service will be conducted at the graveside by Clinton Lodge 15. A memorial has been established to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Contributions may be left at Raymond Funeral Home.
