Grace E. Cannon, 96, of Keosauqua died at 10:53 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. ellis andrews officiating. Burial will be in Fellows Cemetery of Keosauqua.

Visitation will be held from 3-4 p.m. Sunday and from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cannon was born Jan. 16, 1907, in San Jose, Ill., the daughter of Andrew and Agnes Groves Burling. She married Guy J. Cannon May 5, 1930, in Mount Pleasant. He died Feb. 27, 1982.

Mrs. Cannon moved with her parents to Van Buren County in 1918 and graduated from Cantril High School in 1929. She and her husband farmed near Pittsburg for 35 years and moved to Keosauqua in 1966. She had a new house built in 1995.

Survivors include one niece, Marjorie Welch of Peoria, Ill.; and one nephew, Franklin Harris of Ottawa, Ill.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Rowena Harris, Isabelle Burling and Willa Jamison; and one brother, Gilbert Burling.
