Joseph ROLDAN

Joseph ROLDAN, 79, of Evart, Mich., died Friday, April 17, 1998, at his winter home in West Bradenton, Fla.

He was married to Marjorie LAUDER of the Germanville area on April 10, 1920, in Mount Pleasant. She survives.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the LAUDER family plot in Antioch Cemetery northwest of Fairfield.

Mr. ROLDAN was born Dec. 29, 1918, in Tobarra, Spain, the son of Jesus and Valentina GOMEZ ROLDAN. He had lived in the Detroit area since 1920. He was a millwright for the Ford Motor Co. for 27 1/2 years before his retirement. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and a former prisoner of war.

He alsois (sic - also is) survived by one son, Rick, South Lyons, Mich., and one daughter, Carol SAYYE, Melvindale, Mich.; four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Frank.

Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southwest Florida or the Antioch Church.

Admin. note: Joseph's obituary notes he was born in 1918 and married in 1920. Most likely this is a typo on the part of the paper and the marriage probably took place closer to 1940; the original article does note 1920 for the marriage date. The Social Security Death Index gives his birth and death dates as those cited in the obituary.
