Helga Martha CANFIELD

Helga Martha CANFIELD, 72, of route 1, died Sunday, April 17, 1994, at her daughter's home in Menomonee Falls, Wis.

There will be a private service Wednesday in Milwaukee. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of First United Methodist Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Kenneth Royar officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice.

Mrs. CANFIELD was born Oct. 3, 1921, in Bavaria, the daughter of Fredrich and Henry SCHWENKE. She moved to the United States and grew up on the Milwaukee area. On November 5, 1938, she married Clyde C. CANFIELD, who survives. Upon graduation from nursing school, she worked for several years at Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee. She later established a private duty nursing registry in Milwaukee. After retiring, she and her husband moved from Mequon, Wis., to Fairfield in 1979. She was instrumental in establishing the Jefferson County Chapter of Hospice, and was active in the Fairfield Women's Club.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Dawn DOHMEYER of Menomonee Falls; a son, James of Fairfield; four grandchildren; two brothers, Mihran "Junior" BASHIRIAN of Elroy, Wis., and Norman BASHIRIAN of Milwaukee. Her parents, two brothers, Werner and Henry SCHWENKE, and a daughter, Yolanda REBHOLZ, preceded her in death.
