Shirley Virginia Sullivan, 79, of Clinton, died, Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at Eagle Point Nursing Home, Clinton.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Homes and Crematory, with Dennis Glew officiating. Following the services the body will be cremated. Interment will be in the Springdale Cemetery.

Visitation will from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family requests that memorials be made Eagle Point Nursing Home.

Mrs. Sullivan was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Eldon. She married Robert Canaday in 1946 and later married Curtis Sullivan in 1979. He died in 1992.

Mrs. Sullivan was a 1942 graduate of Ottumwa High School and also attended nursing school in Ottumwa. She was a registered nurse and licensed beautician for many years.

She was a former member of the Eastern Star in DeWitt.

Survivors include one son, Robert Canaday and wife Marilyn of Clinton; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one brother, Arthur Moore of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by parents, both husbands, and one granddaughter.
