Veda Marjorie Isaacson, 90, formerly of Stockport, died at 3:35 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Stockport United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Catie Newman officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery near Stockport.

Open visitation began at 2 p.m. today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the family present from 3-4 p.m.

Memorials to Stockport United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 1412 180th St., Donnellson 52625.

Mrs. Isaacson was born April 20, 1913, in Ottumwa, the daughter of J.B. and Gracye Park Peck. She married Stong Short in 1938. He died in 1950. She married Denzil Burdette Isaacson Feb. 8, 1957, in Farmington. He did Jan. 3, 2003.

Mrs. Isaacson graduated from Ottumwa High School, worked as a nurses aide at Sunnyslope Sanitarium in Ottumwa and Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua, farmed with her husband on the Isaacson family farm west of Hillsboro, retired to Stockport in 1984 and entered Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua with her husband in 2002.

She was a member of Stockport United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, Van Buren County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of American Colonists of Mount Pleasant and LLG Club in Stockport.

Survivors include one brother, James Peck of Missouri City, Texas.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Miriam McElroy.
