Paul HAGANS, 61, Taken In Death

Paul I. HAGANS, 61, Fairfield Route 4, died early today at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City following a serious illness of three months.

Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Ned C. Gillum officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

HAGANS was born May 12, 1911 in Jefferson County, the son of John and Myrtle FRAKES HAGANS. He was reared and educated in this county.

HAGANS was married to Georgia MILES in 1936. He was employed by the County road department for 13 years. A veteran of World War II, he attended the Christian Church and was a member of the American Legion.

Surviving are his widow and five children: Jack HAGANS, Fairfield; Richard HAGANS, Brighton; Mrs. Barbara SELL and Mrs. Elmer HECKETHORN, both of Fairfield; and Mrs. Robert HAYNES, Topeka, Ill.

Other survivors are 16 grandchildren and the following step-children: Harold HAGANS, Mrs. Violet SCOTTON and Mrs. Ben HOLMES, all of Farifield; and Mrs. Shirley WOLVERTON, Moberly, Mo.

Also surviving are 20 step-grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren; two brothers, Verl and Howard HAGANS, and one sister, Mrs. Brian HUSTON, all of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, two grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters.
