Dorothy SCHIMMELPFENNIG

Dorothy SCHIMMELPFENNIG, 89, of Fairfield died Thursday, July 8, 1993 at Nelson Nursing Home.

She was born May 28, 1904, in Keswick, the daughter of Noah and Lula RUNYON CASKEY. She attended school in Keswick and farmed in the Sigourney and Washington, Iowa, areas. She moved to Boone and returned to Sigourney in 1977. She had lived at Nelson Nursing Home for the past 3 years.

She married Harry SCHIMMELPFENNIG on Jan. 21, 1925, in What Cheer.

Surviving are two sons, Daryl of Forest City and Gerald of Batavia; two daughters, Harriet NAERT of St. Louis and Vava JONES of Long Beach, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, June VAIR of Oskaloosa and Edna FIXMER of Bloomfield. She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, Earl, Ernest and Zenas; and two sisters, Winifred DUNSTON and Claire FRIDLEY.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney. Burial was at Sunny Ridge Cemetery near Sigourney.
