Carl Albert WATTS

Carl Albert WATTS passed Dec. 26th, 2012 at HH Hospice in Orange City, FL. Born October 3, 1930 in Bonaparts, Iowa to Winnetka HANSEN WATTS and Leslie Albert WATTS. He was preceded in death by his infant brother and a sister, Mary Jo WATTS KNAFLA. Raised in Iowa, his first job was at the Dexter Corp and he later worked for Ford Motor Company, retiring after 37 years of service. He was married to Janice Nadine TELLER on May 16, 1954. Carl served in the National Guard for 15 years, playing in the 34th division NG Army Band of Fairfield. They raised 2 sons, David and Douglas WATTS. Janice passed unexpectedly in September 2008.

Carl is survived by his second wife, Ginny SWICKARD, whom he married on June 1, 2011. He also leaves his sons, David (Christina) WATTS of Cartersville, GA and Douglas (Evelyn) WATTS of Longwood, FL.; his grandchildren: Jason (Brandy) WATTS, Alex (Theresa) WATTS, Ines (Michael) KRAUSE, Elisabeth(Christopher) RHOTON, Zachary WATTS and fiancee, Katie WATERS and Nicholas WATTS; and his great-grandchildren: Malek and Soren KRAUSE; Andrew and Candice WATTS.

There will be a memorial service at First Presbyterian Church of Debary on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. A memorial service in Fairfield, Iowa will be held at a later date.

Carl A. WATTS

Carl A. WATTS of Florida, formerly of Iowa, died Dec. 26, 2012.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. July 3 at First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield.

A luncheon will be available after the service in fellowship hall, followed by a graveside service at Bonaparte Cemetery (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Mr. WATTS was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Bonaparte, the son of Winnetka HANSEN WATTS and Leslie Albert WATTS. He married Janice Nadine TELLER May 16, 1954. She preceded him in death in September 2008. He married Ginny SWICKARD June 1, 2011. She survives.

He worked at Dexter Company and Ford Motor Company.

He served in the Iowa Army National Guard for 15 years, playing in the 34th Army Band of Fairfield.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Elks Lodge, the Walton Club and the Howard Johnson Coffee Club in Fairfield.

Survivors include two sons, David WATTS and wife Christina of Cartersville, Ga., and Douglas WATTS and wife Evelyn of Longwood, Fla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
