Emogene 'Jean' DAHL

Emogene "Jean" DAHL, age 88 of Fort Collins, Colorado died December 10, 2012 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins.

Emogene Elizabeth SCOTT was born April 18, 1924 in Gary, Indiana to Frank and Pauline SCOTT. She grew up in Fairfield, Iowa and attended Parsons College in Fairfield. She lived formerly in Tipton, IA and Aurora, CO prior to settling in Fort Collins in 1962.

Jean worked for many years as a secretary for H.S.I. Insurance Company and was an active member of Faith Evangelical Free Church; helping out with Sunday school and participating in Bible study groups. She also worked with the Campfire Girls for several years. Jean was an avid Bronco's football fan. When asked, her son described her expression of Christian love to be something he was constantly in awe of; and now, even more so. Her love of all people, especially children was remarkable. Most noteworthy was that she never wanted to draw attention to herself. Jean always thought of others; to the point where she found it very difficult to accept any help if she was ever in need.

She is survived by her son, Fredric "Fritz" DAHL of Ft. Collins; her brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Judy SCOTT of Tucson, AZ; a nephew, Kevin; sister-in-law Donna FIRPO of Hartselle, Alabama; a niece, Lynn; and cousins Gwen SCOTT and Susan SCOTT of Grand Junction, Steve SCOTT of Colorado Springs, and Wayne E. SCOTT(Patty) of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Years ago, Jean had a special dog; a Dachshund named "Penny" who was always a favorite and special memory to her.

A memorial services was held at Goes Funeral Care in Fort Collins and her cremated remains will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins.
