Hazel Annice HIX

Hazel Annice HIX, 87, of 807 W. Taylor Ave., died at 1:50 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Kent and Duane HIX officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Nelson Nursing Home Activity Fund or the donor's choice.

Ms. HIX was born May 13, 1912, in Milford, Ill., the daughter of Leroy and Maude METZ HIX.

She had lived in the Fairfield community since 1923 with her previous residence in Stockport. She was an office employee at J.C. Penney Co. store in Fairfield for 27 years.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church; Wesleyan Circle of United Methodist Women; Jefferson County Historical Society; Jefferson County Genealogical Society; Jefferson County Republican Women; and Jefferson County Cancer Board.

Survivors include one brother, Kenneth L. HIX of Washington, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clyde and Verne HIX; and one sister, Helen DROZ.
