Jack D. GRAY

Jack D. GRAY, 39, 736 17th St., Rock Island, Ill., former area resident, died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 1994, at Mercy Hospital in Davenport as the result of injuries received earlier in the day when his pickup slid into the path of a semi near Davenport.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Innis officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family vistation (sic) will be from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Fairfield Park and Recreation Department.

GRAY was born Sept. 20, 1954, in Fairfield, the son of James Sr. and Betty LYONS GRAY. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1973. He had lived in Rock Island for two years and before that in the Fairfield and Lockridge communities. He was employed at Motorola and Wal-Mart in Mount Pleasant before moving to Davenport to work at Sam's Warehouse. He was one of the organizers of the Fairfield-Jefferson County Farmers Market and Henry County Farmers Market. His hobbies included gardening.

Surviving are his mother of Fairfield; five sisters, Jeanette COX of Douds, Diane BREWER of Corpus Christi, Texas, Mary WHITE of Lisle, Ill., Tami STEPHENSON of Keokuk, Susan BELL of Fairfield; four brothers, Randy of Redmond, Wash., Jim of Fairfield, Bob of Cedar Rapids and Clint of Keosauqua. His father preceded him in death.
