Evelyn A. Deutsch, 83, of rural Brighton died at 1:42 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at Jefferson County Hospital, where she had been a resident of the Long-term Care Unit for a few weeks.

A funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Charles J. Fladung officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the Lupus Foundation and may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 1153 Raspberry Ave., Brighton 52540.

Mrs. Deutsch was born Feb. 13, 1920, south of East Pleasant Plain, the daughter of Charles and Lucy Lisk Peck. She married Victor Deutsch Feb. 24, 1941, in East Pleasant Plain.

Mrs. Deutsch worked at Pickard Lumber Company for six years and was a housewife.

She was a former member of St. Mary's Church in Polishville and until her death was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society in East Pleasant Plain.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Rosalyn Bombei and husband Gary of Solon, Ohio, and Julie Davis of Sheboygan, Wis.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Deutsch was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dennis Deutsch; six brothers; two sisters, Margaret Ledger and Martha Fritz; and four brothers, Anthony, Ralph, Benedict and Richard Peck.
