Neville WIGGINS, 40, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, as the result of a vehicular accident on Highway 34 in Jefferson County.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant.

Neville L. WIGGINS

Neville L. WIGGINS, 40, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, as the result of a vehicular accident on Highway 34 west of Fairfield.

Visitation began after 2 p.m. today, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant. Family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. today.

A service is at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the memorial chapel with the Rev. Guy Sammons officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery (sic - Mt. Pleasant, Henry Co., IA).

A memorial has been established to the Necole Hunter-Wiggins Education Fund.

Mr. WIGGINS was born Feb. 17, 1972, in Mount Pleasant, the son of Neville Harvey and Rosie Ann SAMMONS WIGGINS. He married Melissa L. HUNTER May 27, 2006, in Fairfield.

He attended school in Mount Pleasant Community School District.

He enjoyed life and spending time with his family. He had many skills.

He was a hog farmer for many years, along with being an auto mechanic, which he considered both a career and a hobby. He was a stain glass (sic) technician for Associated Crafts.

Survivors include his wife Melissa; his mother, Rosie WIGGINS of Mount Pleasant; two sons, Christopher WIGGINS of Aledo, Ill., and Tanner WATERHOUSE of Olds; two daughters, Dannielle WIGGINS of Matherville, Ill., and Necole HUNGER-WIGGINS of Mount Pleasant; a brother, Darrel Scottie Andrew WIGGINS of Mount Pleasant; four sisters, Loriann DAINS of Mitchellville, Tammy SCHULTZ of Rome, Barbara CARLSON of Fairfield and Cheryl RICH of Mount Pleasant; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Fairfield man killed in vehicle accident

Neville L. WIGGINS, 40, of Fairfield was killed in a vehicle accident on Highway 34 east of Cedar Avenue.

According to the Iowa State Patrol report, WIGGINS was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban east in the right-hand lane on Highway 34 at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

He collided with the back of a 2006 Ford F150 pickup, driven by Fred A. Clubb, 52, of Batavia, who also was driving east in the right-hand lane on Highway 34.

Clubb's Ford came to rest in the median.

WIGGINS' Chevrolet rolled and came to rest in the south ditch.

According to the Iowa State Patrol's crash report, WIGGINS was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle. He was transported by ambulance to Jefferson County Health Center.

The accident remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were Batavia fire and first responders, Fairfield Fire Department, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and Midwest Ambulance.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant.
