GLENDALE--Selah STEADWELL (sic - STEDWELL), an old settler, died March 2d; if he had lived until the next day he would have completed his eighty-first year; he had been almost blind for nearly twenty years; his birthplace was in New York State. Rev. S. T. Horton preached the funeral at the Coalport church to a large congregation. His daughter Mrs. NEISWANGER of Washington county arrived in time to attend the funeral, but Mrs. ANDERSON of Nebraska did not get here until afterwards.

Transcribed by Doris Challis from Jefferson County Records, Vol. 3. Not related to the subject.

Admin. note: Given name appears as Seely on his gravestone. His wife was Eliza CARTER who died in 1893 in NE. Buried in Lockridge Cemetery.
