JOHN KING
John KING, son of Sebastian and Anna KING, was born near Trenton, Ia., March 5th, 1869. When about five years of age, he moved with his parents to near Lockridge, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. Later he moved to Fairfield. The last few years he was a resident of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
Several weeks ago he went to Missouri to spend the winter with his brother. On Thursday, Jan. 7, 1932, while working in the timber he was struck by a falling tree and instantly killed.
He leaves to mourn his death three brothers and one sister; Joseph L. KING of Kahoka, Mo., Samuel C. and Albert L. KING and Mrs. William VOGEL of Fairfield. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
Mr. KING had never married. He led a quiet and honest life and left an indelible impression on every one who knew him.
Funeral services were held on January 9th, 1932, from St. Mary's Catholic church in charge of Rev. E. F. Gaule. Interment was made in the Lockridge cemetery.

Admin. note: Born March 9, 1870, on his gravestone. In the 1870 census, he's shown as two years old (i.e. in his second year, so born 1869 as of the date of the census, August, 1870; in the 1900 census, he's noted as born March, 1869). A death announcement also appeared in the "Ledger" on January 7th, Page 1, Column 3.
