Helen L. BROWN rites Monday

BATAVIA -- Helen Lois BROWN, 57, native of Jefferson County, died at 4 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Packwood Methodist Church with the Rev. John Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in Halferty Cemetery at Ollie (sic - Keokuk County, IA).

Visitation will be Sunday evening at the Gould Funeral Home in Richland.

Helen Lois BROWN was born Dec. 10, 1927, in Jefferson County. She was the daughter of Lloyd and Lavonia BODDER DICKINSON.

Mrs. BROWN was a graduate of the Richland High School, Parsons college and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma in Fairfield. She taught 14 years at Roosevelt School before being transferred to Libertyville School last fall. She had been on sick leave since December.

Her marriage to Lawrence BROWN took place May 27, 1951, in Richland. He survives.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Kelda BROWN, Dayton, Ohio; three brothers, Charles and Harold DICKINSON, both of Birmingham; and Nial DICKINSON, Ottumwa.

Mrs. BROWN was a member of the Packwood Methodist Church, Legion Auxiliary in Richland and World War I Barracks in Sigourney.
