Last rites were held at DeWitt Monday for Mrs. E. A. (sic - Mrs. Edward A.) PIPER, wife of a former Lutheran minister in Fairfield.
Mrs. PIPER, well remembered by a number of Fairfield area residents, died Thursday and the services Monday were held at the McGinnis Funeral Home in DeWitt.
Dr. PIPER began his pastoral duties at the First Lutheran Church in Fairfield Jan. 25, 1939, after having served as pastor of the English Lutheran Church in Webster City for nearly 16 years.
Dr. PIPER served as pastor of the Fairfield Church for 19 years, and left the church in April, 1958, to accept an appointment as supply pastor at the English Lutheran Church in Oxford Junction.
Mrs. PIPER is survived by her husband, two daughters and two sons.
