George Milton BAKER

George Milton BAKER, 84, 710 W. Taylor Ave., died at 5:20 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2000, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Howard Innis officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be 7-8 p.m. today at Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene.

Mr. BAKER was born Nov. 25, 1915, in Fairfield, the son of William Carrie LOEHR BAKER. He married Bettye Kay YOUNG Aug. 28, 1938, in Clinton.

Mr. BAKER had been a lifetime resident of the Fairfield community. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1934. He graduated from Nebraska School of Pharmacy in Lincoln, Neb. He was a United States Army Air Corps veteran, participating in World War II. He was a pharmacist at Martin Pharmacy for 17 years; B&R Drug Store for 18 years; and Easter Pharmacy for six years. He retired in 1982. He returned to work at Brown Pharmacy for 10 years. He retired permanently in 1993.

He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, American Legion Post 2271 and the Howard Johnson Coffee Club.

Survivors include his wife; and one brother, William BAKER of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Helen BAKER DAGGETT, Lillian BAKER ZEIGLER and Catherine BAKER; two brothers, Arthur and Frank BAKER.
