Fairfield Daily Journal, Oct.3, 1908, p.2, col.4. Cynthia Ann Hemphill McKemey died this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rollin J. Wilson on South Main Street. Born in Bedford county PA, June 10, 1818, and with her parents, Adley Hemphill and wife, came to Jefferson county, IA in 1842. She was married to Joseph Alison McKemey at Fairfield Feb. 28, 1844. Seven children, three of whom survive, Mrs. S.J. Chester, Mrs. Rollin J. Wilson, and J.S. McKemey,all of this city. The husband and father died Jan. 3, 1898.
