FRESHWATER Rites Set

Mrs. Ruth M. FRESHWATER, 70, died suddenly Friday afternoon while at the Iowa State Bank in Fairfield. Witnesses said she walked up to the teller's window and slumped to the floor.

Mrs. FRESHWATER was given emergency treatment until the arrival of the ambulance. She was taken to the Jefferson County Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival about 2:30 p.m.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. D.O. Van Dyne officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Ruth M. FRESHWATER was born Jan. 10, 1906, at Wayland, the daughter of Albert J. and Mary E. VAN SANT MANNING. She was married Aug. 1, 1923, to Robert LYONS. He died Oct. 29, 1965.

Her marriage to Robert FRESHWATER took place April 23, 1967. He preceded her in death Dec. 10, 1971.

Mrs. FRESHWATER had been a resident of Fairfield for over 50 years. Her home was at 709 W. Grimes.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Charles WHITHAM, Donna LYONS and Mrs. Larry BISHOP all of Fairfield; one son, Larry LYONS, Fairfield; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Roy MANNING, Keosauqua, and Lester MANNING, Fairfield; two sisters, Wilma CASSABAUM, Fairfield, and Mrs. Maxiene JAMISON, Winfield.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Admin. note: Buried with her first husband in Lot Devotion B 44, space 2. Her second husband is buried in Evergreen Cemetery with his first wife.
