MILLHOUSE Dies At 70

BATAVIA - Howard C. MILLHOUSE, 70, died at 5:50 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Batavia with the Rev. Clarence DeBoef officiating. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Campbell Funeral Home.

MILLHOUSE had been a resident of the Batavia community for nine years. He was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church.

MILLHOUSE was born Sept. 8, 1906 in Wapello County, the son of David W. and Clara BURTLOW MILLHOUSE. He was married to Maisie PARDUN Dec. 12, 1929.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Doris BALLEW, League City, Tex.; Mrs. Marcella DYE, Agency; Mrs. Genevieve KNOTT, Murrayville, Ill.; and two sons, Robert of Fairfield and Stephen of Batavia.

Also surviving are 28 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and six step-grandchildren. Two brothers, Raymond of Des Moines and Robert of Davenport, and one sister, Mrs. Bertha FUNK, Pomona, Calif., also survive.

Admin. note: Wife Maisie survived him and died in Ottumwa, IA, in 1994; she is also buried in Batavia Cemetery.
