Mrs. BILLINGSLEY, 97, Dies

Belle BOWER BILLINGSLEY, 97, died at 5 p.m. Thursday at Nelson Nursing home. The last of a family of 10 children, she was born and raised and spent most of her life on the same farm in Jefferson County, Round Prairie Township, near Glasgow. Since her 90th birthday she has lived in nursing homes.

Funeral services will be held at Glasgow United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Monday with Dr. Charles Sloca in charge. Burial will be in Glasgow Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 29, 1880 near Glasgow, the daughter of Ben and Ruth CLINE BOWER. On March 21, 1906 she was married to Walter S. BILLINGSLEY. He died Nov. 14, 1959.

Mrs. BILLINGSLEY was a member of the Glasgow United Methodist Church, and its WSCS.

She is survived by two daughters and a son: Ruth TRACHT of Fairfield; Helen FICKEL of Indianola and Roy BILLINGSLEY of Lockridge. There are nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The body will lie in state from Saturday evening until Monday at the Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may go to the Glasgow United Methodist Church.
