Walter GERLING Dies Suddenly

Walter M.GERLING, former Fairfield business man, died suddenly at his home in Codorus, Pa., on Wednesday, Feb. 2. Graveside services were held this afternoon at 2 at Hartford, Iowa.

Gerling was born Nov. 9, 1902 at Beaconsfield, Iowa, the son of Henry and Ella SCHROEDER GERLING. He was married on Dec. 25, 1929 to Leona ORRILL of Hartford. She survives.

Also surviving are a son, Allan who lives in Codorus and is treasurer of Fairfield Glove Co., of Hanover, Pa.; and a daughter, Mary, now Mrs. Lyle HOOD of Allandale, Va. There are three granddaughters.

Walter Gerling owned and operated the Gerling Feed and Produce Co., on South Court, before retiring and moving to Codorus. The family home was at 308 E. Broadway. The family's present address is Box 322, Codorus, Pa., 17311.
