Monday, October 10, 1977H. GAMBLE Dies At 73
Mrs. Brice GAMBLE, a resident of Fairfield for over 35 years, died at 3 a.m. Sunday at the Jefferson County Hospital where she had been a patient since Sept. 6.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. John Wheatley officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today, Monday.
Harriett S. GAMBLE, 73, 500 E. Burlington; was born Nov. 23, 1903, at Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Thomas and Anne LOCK SLOSS. She was reared and educated in Ames.
A graduate of Iowa State College at Ames, she lived in Des Moines and Rockville Center, N.Y., before moving to Fairfield 1941.
Her marriage to Brice GAMBLE took place Jan. 1, 1927 at Ames. He survives. Mrs. GAMBLE was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her husband she is survived by one son, Peter, San Francisco; one daughter, Mrs. Linda BRINKER, Muskogee, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
She is also survived by four sisters, Mrs. Jean WRIGHT, Fond Du Lac (sic - Fond du Lac), Wis.; Mrs. Grace NISSEN, Meservey; Dr. Margaret SLOSS, Ames; and Mrs. Martha HOWARD, Cambridge, Mass.
Mrs. Gamble was preceded in death by three brothers.
