Raymond Nuby SMITH

Raymond Nuby SMITH, 73, of Birmingham, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at the Jefferson County Health Center.

Burial information will be announced at a later date.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Behner Funeral Home.

Mr. SMITH was born Jan. 22, 1939 near Stockport, the son of Henry Warren and Waunita Maxine LOVING SMITH. He married Gloria Ann ERTZ Jan. 1, 1967, in West Burlington and they later divorced.

Mr. SMITH worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe for 26 years as a machinist.

He enjoyed woodworking and fishing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by three children: Timothy Warren SMITH of Stockport, Teri Lynn SMITH of Council Bluffs and Daniel Nuby SMITH of Burlington; four siblings: Richard H. SMITH of Stockport, Doris D. SCHILB of Fairfield, Roxie E. SMITH of Buffalo and Roger D. SMITH of Augusta; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
