Dawn Marie COFFMAN

Dawn Marie COFFMAN, 47, of Marston Hill Road, Auburn, Maine, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, with her family by her side.

Dawn Marie COFFMAN was born in Cedar Falls, Iowa, June 3, 1965, a daughter of Russell and Linda BRINKMAN SIMON. She graduated from Parkersburg High School in the Class of 1984. She received her bachelor's degree in music education from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, Class of 1987.

Dawn was a musical instructor at several Iowa and East Coast schools from 1991 to 2002, serving also occasionally as church choir director.

She and her family moved to Auburn in 2009. She forever dedicated her life to her family. Dawn was a beautiful woman, dedicated mother and true friend to the last hours.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. David L. COFFMAN of Auburn, whom she married June 29, 1991; her sons, Christian and Elliott of Auburn; her dad, Russell SIMON of Parkersburg, Iowa; her sisters, Kim DRALLE and husband, James, of Minnesota, Nichole MAITLAND and husband, David, of Parkersburg, Iowa; and her brothers, John SIMON of Iowa and Jordan SIMON of Iowa.

She was predeceased by her mother, Linda BRINKMAN SIMON of Iowa.

The family wishes to thank the medical staff involved in her care at Central Maine Medical Center, St. Mary's Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital, and all those stalwart friends and family who gave a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on or simple words of encouragement. Though she must go, the greatest gift of love remains.
