Harold J. ZELINSKI, 57, of Brighton, died at 3:47 a.m. today, Tuesday, May 12, 1998, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain with the Rev. Paul Connolly officiating. Prayers for a Christian wake will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church with family visitation to follow. Burial will be in the Polishville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Masses or to the Brighton Lions Club.
Mr. ZELINSKI was born June 9, 1940, near Pleasant Plain, the son of Edmund and Bertille FRITZ ZELINSKI. He married Linda EMANUEL Nov. 21, 1964, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield.
He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1958. He lived his entire life in Jefferson County. He was employed as a shipping clerk at Louden's from 1965-1980.
Mr. ZELINSKI was a member of the Iowa National Guard until 1963. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fairfield Elks Lodge, and the current president of Brighton Lions Club.
Survivors include his mother, Bertille SHELANGOSKI, of Brighton; his wife of Brighton; three daughters, Lisa WHITE of Keota, Sheila WOOTON of Arlington, Texas, and Rhonda of Homewood, Ill.; one son, Shawn of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and one sister, Florence MOELLER of St. Paul.
He was preceded in death by his father.
