Mrs. C. G. BUSH Taken in Death

Death came early this morning to Mrs. C. G. BUSH, well-known Fairfield resident and wife of long-time Fairfield garage owner.

She passed away about 6 a.m. at the Jefferson county hospital where she had been a patient the past two days. She underwent surgery three weeks ago at the University hospital in Iowa City and never recovered.

Last rites will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. C. G. BUSH, 67, was born Feb. 8, 1892, at Mt. Pleasant, Ia., the daughter of the late Robert and Dora HALL GUMM. She was united in marriage on April 8, 1917, to C. Gurley BUSH. The wedding took place at Ottumwa.

She had made her home in this community for over 55 years. The family home is at 304 W. Van Buren street.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one brother, Warren GUMM, Phoenix, Ariz.; and a sister, Mrs. Ethel LAWSON, Ottumwa.

Admin. note: Husband Charles Gurley BUSH died in 1976; both are buried in Lot Old.P.225. Although Sherri gives Theo's middle initial as 'M.' here, it's Theo A. on her gravestone.
