Sylvester H. 'Bud' MINEART

Sylvester H. "Bud" MINEART, 85, 1210 S. Fourth St., died at 2:15 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 1998, at Jefferson County Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Stephen Page officating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery at East Pleasant Plain. A prayer and wake service will be at 7 p.m. today at Raymond Funeral Home with the rosary recited by the Knights of Columbus. The family will receive friends following the prayer service until 8:30 p.m. Memorials have been established to the Knights of Columbus Scholarship, Lions Sight and Hearing Program or St. Mary Catholic Church.

Mr. Mineart was born June 17, 1912, south of Pleasant Plain, the son of Henry and Grace LAMANSKY MINEART. The family lived south of Brighton in Washington County. He graduated from Brighton High School. He married Ferne E. GEOEHRING (sic - GOEHRING) May 20, 19141, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain.

Mr. Mineart farmed northwest of Fairfield until they moved to their present home in 1969. He worked at Fairfield Lumber Company until her (sic - he) retired in 1984.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where he served on the parish council, Knights of Columbus of which he was a former grand knight, Farm Bureau of which he was a former director, Keep Young Club and Fairfield Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Mary Margaret WAGNER of Burlington, Rosalie KINNEY of Bloomfield, Carol HARRELL of Orange Park, Fla., Marilyn of Independence, Mo., Ann DRUM of Troy, Ill., and Martha BUCKMAN of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; six brothers, Raymond, Leroy and Harold of Brighton, Maynard of Kenniwalk, Wash.; Curtis of Washington, Iowa and David of Norwalk; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn GEVOCK of Brighton and Margaret ANDERSON of Salina; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Christine McCLINTIC; and two brothers, John and Maurice.
