James Wireman ROLAND, 91, of Birmingham died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at home.
A funeral is at 3 p.m. Saturday at Birmingham United Methodist Church with the Rev. Peggy Ellingson officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, followed by a meal at church.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. Saturday until the 3 p.m. funeral at church.
Memorials may be made to Birmingham Lions Club.
Arrangements are being handled by Raymond Funeral Home, Birmingham.

Mr. ROLAND was born Mach (sic - March) 1, 1921 in Fairfield, the son of Trevor and Violet WIREMAN ROLAND. He married Thelma Helen STANSBERRY Jan. 29, 1945, in Fairfield.
He attended school in Libertyville.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served on the USS Iowa during World War II.
He lived his entire life in the Birmingham community. He was a farmer and co-owner of S&R Equipment.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Lions Club in Birmingham.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard ROLAND and spouse Connie of Clarksville, Tenn., and Dennis ROLAND of Birmingham; one daughter, Kathy CONGER of Fairfield; one sister, Verda HALL of Fairfield; one brother, Donnie ROLAND of Fairfield; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Velma ROLAND; and one brother, Henry ROLAND.
