Fred LEPPERT Rites Friday

RICHLAND -- Fred LEPPERT, 85, died Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Ottumwa Hospital following surgery. He had been a patient at the Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield for several years.

Serv ices (sic) will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Gould Funeral Home in Richland with the Rev. Naomi Lock officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery (sic - in Richland).

LEPPERT operated the Rubio telephone exchange for 22 years. He was born near Rubio Dec. 19, 1888, the son of Charles and Nancy MORGAN LEPPERT. He was married to Verle JONES Nov. 4, 1909.

Surviving are one son, Donald of Washington; six grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one brother, Dale of Hastings, Neb. He was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers. He was a member of the Richland Masonic Lodge.
