Katheryn GLOTFELTY

LIBERTYVILLE - Katheryn E. Glotfelty, 96, of Miami, Fla., died at 8:11 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 1997, at East Ridge Retirement Village in Miami.

A graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Fell Cemetery near Libertyville with the Rev. Tony Pulate officiating. Memorials can be made to Fell Cemetery. Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds is in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Glotfelty was born July 9, 1900, near Estherville, the daughter of Sherman W. and Lottie TAYLOR MORTON. She married Frank E. GLOTFELTY, a native of Libertyville, on June 24, 1922,in Chicago. He died Feb. 21, 1991. She graduated from Estherville High School and the University of Iowa. She studied music in Chicago and New York City, and was an accomplished opera singer and church soloist. She taught school in Iowa early in life. She and her husband lived in Chicago, Peoria, Ill., New York City and New Jersey, retiring to Florida in 1962. She was a Methodist, had been a member of Howie in the Hills Community Church in Florida and was a longtime member of PEO.

Surivors include two sons, Wyndon and Frank, both of Miami; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Owen MORTON and Taylor MORTON.
