K. PARRETT Rites Today

BATAVIA - Last rites for Kenneth R. PARRETT, 47, were held this morning at the United Methodist Church in Batavia.

Parrett, a lifetime Jefferson County farmer, died Friday at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Last rites were conducted by the Rev. Kermit Black and the Rev. Robert Cumings. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield. The Campbell Funeral Home was in charge.

Parrett was born Oct. 26, 1926, in Jefferson County, the son of Ross and Emma NEHRE PARRETT. He was married Aug. 20, 1950 to Lois TRABERT.

Surviving are his widow; one sister, Mrs. Margaret BLIESE, Kearney, Neb., and one brother, Donald PARRETT, Eldon.

Parrett was a 1943 graduate of Fairfield High School, serving as a class valedictorian. He received numerous honors in agriculture and served as state president of the Future Farmers of America in 1945. He was awarded the FFA's State Farmer degree in 1943 and the American Farmer degree in 1946. He was also a member of the original board of directors of the Fairfield Community School District, serving a one-year term beginning in March 1958.
