Margaret C. RIZOR

Margaret C. RIZOR, 85, of Leesburg, Va., died at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 1994, at Heritage Hall in Leesburg.

The service is set tentatively for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Fairfield with the Rev. John Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home.

Margaret C. RIZOR

Margaret C. RIZOR, 85, long-time Fairfield resident, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 1994, at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Leesburg, Va., where she had lived the past two years after breaking her hip.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. John W. Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery seven miles southeast of Fairfield. Family visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to Loudoun County Public Library in Leesburg. Funds will be used to purchase talking books, which were used by Mrs. Rizor who suffered from macular degeneration.

Mrs. RIZOR was born June 19, 1908, seven miles southeast of Fairfield, the daughter of Jack and Alma SMITHBURG COX. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1925 and attended Parsons College. On Oct. 25, 1925, she married Hugh F. RIZOR of Fairfield in Memphis, Mo. He died March 28, 1978. The RIZORs operated a farm southeast of Fairfield that had been owned by her family for more than 100 years. She had lived in the Fairfield community until moving to Virginia in 1989 to be near her daughter. She was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Joyce CATHEY of Reston, Va.; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
