R. ZEIGLER dies at 86

Raymond G. ZEIGLER, 86, native of Fairfield, died at 4:15 p.m. Friday at the Jefferson County Hospital where he had been a patient since Jan. 20.

Private services will be conducted at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Raymond G. ZEIGLER was born Feb. 12, 1895, in Fairfield. He was the son of Sanford and Ella BOWER ZEIGLER. He was a graduate of the Fairfield High School and attended Parsons College and the University of Iowa where he was a member of the Iowa football team. He was a retired farmer and made his home in Fairfield for the past several years. The family home is at 401 S. Main.

Zeigler was a member of the United Methodist Church, a fifty-year Mason, he was a member of the Elks and Lions Clubs and was a member of the First National Bank board of directors for 35 years.

In addition to his widow, Zeigler is survived by one brother, Clarence, Situate, Mass.; and three sisters, Ariel ZEIGLER and Florence GIFFIN, both of Fairfield; and Ruth SINGLEY, Morris, Ill.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Memorials may be given to the organization of the donor's choice.
