“Mr. John Quakenbush was born Jan 18 1828 and departed this life a few days ago. He was married to Jennie Free Mar. 3 1853. Four children, three of whom preceded him. He leaves a wife and one son, Wm. Quakenbush of Fairfield, also 5 grandchildren. M.E. Church…..Services held at the McDowell M.E. church and interment in the McDowell Cemetery.”
