MULLIKIN rites today

BRIGHTON - Funeral services for Leo E. MULLIKIN, Brighton businessman, were held this morning at Brighton United Church. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery (sic - in Brighton, Washington Co. IA).

MULLIKIN died suddenly Sunday at the Washington County Hospital. Arrangements were in charge of the Sherman-Eden Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the Brighton Community Building Fund.

MULLIKIN was born June 7, 1927 in Brighton the son of Earl J. and Barbara RICH MULLIKIN. He was reared and educated in the Brighton community. He was married Nov. 27, 1952 to Mary Jane RYNOR. He was a member of Eagles, Lions, and American Legion. He was a veteran of World War II, serving Europe.

Since 1966 Mullikin owned and operated the Brighton Stockyards. He also owned Baskin-Robbins store in Fairfield. He was a member of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce. He was also member of board of directors of the Brighton Development Corporation and a former school board member.

Surviving are his wife and four daughters: Judy WHITTAKER, Aberdeen, S.D.; Jean A. MULLIKIN, Lake Andes, S.D.; Martha M. LOVETT, Fairfield and Kathy S. MULLIKIN of Dubuque; his mother, Barbara MULLIKIN of Brighton, one brother, Wesley MULLIKIN, Brighton, and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.
