M.E. SAMUELSON rites Saturday

Services for Mary Ellen SAMUELSON, 71, Calu Apartments, who died Monday evening at her home, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Gary L. Burnett and the Rev. Carl Riggs officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call beginning Friday morning. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to donor's choice.

Mrs. Samuelson was born Jan. 9, 1915 in Jefferson County, the daughter of Walter F. and Retta E. CAVINESS SCHAFER. She married Chester A. SAMUELSON June 18, 1935 in Kahoka, Mo. He died Dec. 11, 1981. They owned and operated Samuelson's Cafe for 18 years and before that ran Samuelson's Grocery Store for 20 years, starting in 1946.

Surviving are a daughter, Sue HELFENSTINE of Wichita Falls, Texas; two sons, John O. of Arlington, Texas, James A. of Lakewood, Calif.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandsons; two sisters, Geneva R. MOONEY of Comanche, Ruth M. BARNES of Fairfield; two brothers, John R. SCHAFER of Clinton and Russell L. SCHAFER of Fairfield.

Mrs. Samuelson was a member of First Presbyterian Church, VFW Auxiliary and Presbyterian Women.
