Page 9Death Comes To Harry H. RABEL
Harry H. RABEL, 92, resident of Jefferson County for over 50 years, died Wednesday night about 9 p.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital. He had been in failing health the past several years and seriously ill the past three weeks.
Last rites will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wilson Hyde in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Harry H. RABEL was born Sept. 11, 1876, near Burlington in Des Moines County. He lived in Jefferson County over 50 years, many years of which he lived southeast of Fairfield. He was a retired farmer.
He was the son of Fred and Catherine BREUER RABEL, and was married to Penelope HILEMAN on Aug. 19, 1906, at Anna, Ill. She passed away Feb. 22, 1958.
He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Pleasant Grove (sic. this Pleasant Grove is in Des Moines county, Iowa); he was a long-time member of the Farm Bureau.
Five daughters survive. They are Mrs. Vernon LAWSON, Mrs. Jesse ROBERTS and Mrs. Robert HUDGEL, all of Fairfield; Mrs. Vernon DICE, Palo; and Mrs. Robert TURPIN, Des Moines. Other survivors include nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
RABEL was preceded in death by his wife and one brother.
