Jeanne CAUGHLAN

Jeanne CAUGHLAN, 76, of San Mateo, Calif., formerly of Fairfield, died Sunday, June 18, 1995, at the Hillsdale Manor Hospital. A memorial service was conducted June 22 at St. Matthew Episcopal Church in San Mateo.

Mrs. CAUGHLAN was born Dec. 6, 1918, in Chicago, the daughter of Vernon and Nevada DUNN. She grew up in Fairfield, attending local schools and graduating from Fairfield High School in 1936. She has visited often in Fairfield since moving away.

She graduated from Wesleyan University in Ohio and earned a master's degree from Washington University in St. Louis. On Jan. 31, 1942, she married Robert CAUGHLAN, an officer and paratrooper. He died in 1947. A resident of San Mateo for almost 50 years, she was a nationally recognized psychiatric social worker and was a membe of San Mateo's Women's Hall of Fame.

Surviving are two sons, Robert and Larry; a brother, Vernon DUNN; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Her parents and a sister, Marion, preceded her in death.
