Fred L. STOLP, 81, of 1703 Linden Drive Apt. A, died at 7:23 a.m. today, Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Parkview Care Center.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, with the Rev. Mark Brase officiating.
Open visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Lung Association or to the donor's choice.
Mr. STOLP was born March 18, 1922, in Hancock County, Ill., the son of Luther Miller and Mabel HITZ STOLP.
Mr. STOLP lived with his companion and friend Charlotte STEELE since 1980. Previously, he lived in Plymouth, Ill. He farmed in Schuyler County, Ill. His pastimes included farming, gardening and watching the Chicago Cubs.
Mr. STOLP was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include Charlotte STEELE of Fairfield; two brothers, Luther STOLP of Plymouth, Ill., and Keith STOLP of Iowa; and four sisters, Maxine CAPER of Laharpe, Ill., Mary MOWER of Dallas City,Ill., Lucille WEAVER of Macomb, Ill., and Rachel JAMISON of Camden, Ill.
Mr. STOLP was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Merle Eugene STOLP.
