Vera HOOVER dies Sunday

Vera M. HOOVER, 78, former Fairfield resident, died Sunday at St. Luke's Hospital in Davenport. She lived at 3320 Spring St. in Davenport.

She was born Nov. 14, 1900 in Fairfield, the daughter of Perry and Bertha WELKER BATES. She was a housemother at Parsons College and later at Palmer College in Davenport.

Survivors include one son, Richard HOOVER of Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one brother, Charels (sic) of California.

Services will be Thursday, 10 a.m., at Weerts-Hill and Fredericks Funeral Home in Davenport with 1 p.m. graveside services and burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. The Rev. Claire Shupe of Davenport will conduct both services.
