Hazel CONKLIN, 85, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. July 28, at the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona.
Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, is handling arrangements.
Mrs. CONKLIN was born June 1, 1927, in Milford, Neb., the daughter of Chris and Lucinda HERSHBERGER EARNEST. She married Richard "Dick" CONKLIN in 1946.
Her family moved to Kalona where she grew up and graduated from high school.
After marrying, the CONKLINs lived in Richland for 40 years, where she was a bookkeeper. They moved to Wickenburg, Ariz., in 1990, after retirement.
The CONKLINs enjoyed traveling the world with friends.
She enjoyed golfing, dancing and playing bridge. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Phoenix Suns fan.
She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah KINNEY and spouse Patrick of Oxford and Sally SALAZAR of Freeland, Wash.; three grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and one sister, Elvera BRENNEMAN of Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Norma EARNEST; and one sister, Virgie MILLER.
