Michael P. McAtee
November 12, 2003Michael P. McAtee, 47, of Bonaparte, died at 11:40 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, in Bonaparte.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Catie Newman officiating. Burial will be in Bentonsport Cemetery.
Open visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the funeral home with the family present from 3-4:30 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m.
Memorials to the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 29421 190th St., Bonaparte 52620.
Mr. McAtee was born Aug. 16, 1956, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Wayne and Alice Huff McAtee. He married Stephanie Miller. They divorced. He married Liljedahl Babcock June 6, 1987.
Mr. McAtee moved as a small child to live in the home of his aunt and uncle, Mary and Andrew Williams of Bonaparte. He grew up in Williams home. He attended Harmony schools, farmed in the Bonaparte area, drove a truck for Crouse Cartage Company and was a driver for Tugboat Transportation in Bonaparte until his death.
He was an active member of Bonaparte Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Phillip Michael McAtee of Kirksville, Mo.; one daughter Mary Alice McAtee of the home; three stepsons, Carl Babcock of Fairfield, Brian Gutting of Memphis, Mo., and Timothy Babcock of Fairfield; one stepdaughter, Paula Babcock of Birmingham; and two grandchildren.
His parents and foster parents preceded him in death.
