Richard Dale ELDER

MUSCATINE --- Richard Dale ELDER, 65, of 19 Jill Drive, Muscatine, 52761, former area resident, died at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1993, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City after a long illness.

The service was conducted Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muscatine with the Rev. Joseph Oswald officiating.

ELDER was born Aug. 12, 1928, in Fairfield, the son of Will H. and Nellie DAVISON ELDER. He grew up in the Fairfield and Libertyville areas, graduating from Libertyville High School. He served in the U, S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and a 25-year member of Moose Lodge, all in Muscatine. For many years he managed an Imperial station in Fairfield and Muscatine. He married Madeline SPRAY on July 17, 1954. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Steve of Atalissa, Randy of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Marjorie WINTER of Libertyville. His parents and two brothers, J Eugene and Merlin Charles, preceded him in death.
