Ethel May MORROW HARRYMAN

Ethel May MORROW HARRYMAN, 87, of Keosauqua, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua.

The funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Keosauqua United Methodist Church with the Rev. Douglas Harding officiating. Burial will be in Leando Cemetery, Douds. Visitation begins at 3 p.m. Friday, with family present from 6-8 p.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Memorials to the Keosauqua United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home, church or mailed to the family at P.O. Box 311, Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs. HARRYMAN was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Early, the daughter of James Archibald and Emily STEWART PATTERSON MORROW. She married Bruce Leo HARRYMAN Jr. Sept. 20, 1946, in Keosauqua. He died Feb. 12, 2003.

Mrs. HARRYMAN grew up in Sac and Tama counties and graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1942. She graduated from American Institute of Business, Des Moines in 1946. She and her husband spent their early life on the farm in the Douds community. She worked at State Savings Bank of Cantril for 30 years.

She was a member of Beer-Barker Unit No. 494 American Legion Auxiliary in Keosauqua, Alpha Delphian Club and Keosauqua United Methodist Church where she was organist, pianist, choir member and church secretary for many years. She also was a member of the Ruth Circle, many other church committees and was a long-time piano teacher.

She earned the 2011 Van Buren County Volunteer of the Year Award for her many years at the hospital and Good Samaritan Society.

Survivors include one son, Lawrence "Larry" HARRYMAN and spouse Connie of Lockridge; four daughters, Colleen LUPPES and spouse Steve of Papillion, Neb., Lois KRUGER of Jefferson City, Mo., Karoleen FOBER and spouse Gary of Cedar Falls and Kathleen HARRYMAN of Rochester, Minn; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, nine step great-grandchildren; and one brother, Richard J. MORROW of East Moline, Ill.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert C. MORROW.
